Nintendo Switch 2 is now the fastest-selling console in U.S. history, selling 1.6m units during its launch month.
The previous record belonged to Sony, which sold 1.1m units of in November 2013 when the PlayStation 4 launched.
According to further data from Circana, the Nintendo Switch 2 was also Junes best-selling video game hardware in terms of both dollar sales and units sold, although the PS5 remains 2025s highest-selling console overall.
In turn, this contributed to a boost in hardware, content, and accessory sales in the month of June, jumping 22% year-over-year, with Circanas executive director, video games, Mat Piscatella confirming both video game hardware and accessories have also reached record highs in June 2025.
Earlier today we reported that Nintendo has announced a new Switch 2 bundle to coincide with the release of Pokémon Legends: Z-A this October.
